Devlog 0.9: The Obligatory Beach Episode

New Dungeon

A new week, a new dungeon. After the complete degeneracy of previous week, this week's dungeon is rather tame. The main idea is that you get to see the megucas in their cute bikinis. There's also some tentacles involved.

The mechanics behind the dungeon are relatively simple. This is the first dungeon without dungeon specific values, instead the crabgirls will try to steal the meguca's bikini's. If you kill them after that, you get the bikini part back. But if they manage to run away over two turns, the bikini part is lost forever. Additionally, the tentacles will try to attach themselves to the megucas as cursed gear.

All in all, it's a pretty mechanically tame dungeon. Well, at least to this game's standards. It's still more mechanical depth than you get in your standard HRPG.

Above is the map, you need to pull several levers to lower the water and reach the boss on the island. There are also some caves that offer shortcuts, and more importantly loot. You may recognise the "pull X levers to progress" design from the eighth dungeon, it's very effective in getting the player to fight enough enemies (which is necessary for the H-elements to work) while keeping backtracking limited. So you'll see this design more going forwards.

Bonus Content

I've updated the cheatsheet with the information on the ninth and tenth dungeons. Hard mode just makes the tentacle equipment curses more devious. Additionally, I'll also release a (rough) version of the tenth dungeon. I have a rather busy week next week, so decided to prepare that one in advance. It might be somewhat unpolished balancewise, but I see no reason not to release it for donators.
