Progress Report: Arachnids

Arachnids

The next enemy type to get an overhaul are the Spidergirls. I've added some improved variants of them, as well as a grappler. Additionally, there are some new spider variants. Firstly there are Scorpions, with a pretty nifty tail. Secondly there are crabs which have eight legs, and as such are spiders whatever so-called biologists may say. Anyway, here's some pictures (see the video here https://x.com/i/status/1813847450723217596):

This change also comes with additional Spider encounters, including Elite ones. Now, only the Orc encounters need a rework.

Workflow Changes

I've also been worked under the hood to improve the workflow for move visualizations and sounds. These can now be modified and tested directly, instead of having to fill in the data indirectly and hoping that it works when testing. So you may notice that some moves have updated sounds and visual effects.

You too can access this screen btw, just open the console and type "enemy_viewer". It works even if you're not a Noble subscriber.

Changelog:

Major:

  • New spidergirl, crabgirl, and scorpiongirl enemies and encounters.

Minor:

  • Enemy resistances have been reworked across the board. Enemies in the same group now - generally - have the same resistance. Hopefully, this allows more strategic choice in which moves and classes to bring to each region.
  • Grapplees now have different expressions depending on how lustful and degenerate they are.
  • Some changes to move sounds and visuals.
  • Added more golden tokens.
  • Kidnap handling is now exposed to modders, thanks Densor!
  • There's now an advancedcursed class type for modders, thanks Densor!

Bugfixes:

  • Orc Magecarrier's free action was broken.
  • Dots applied through non-moves weren't handled as dots applied through moves.
  • Problem with the no cowtits censor.
  • Fixed the dark splotches around nipples problem.
  • Typos.
  • The grappler curios for boss6 were broken.
  • The mod manager would crash if you tried to select a mod folder without there being any modfolders.

Great game and really cool topic with the equipment focus.

I just wish there was a noob-mode with the option to savescum to repeat battles for one-handed players.

The game is meticulously and frequently updated, making it enjoyable to watch. Even the fact that the updates were meticulously planned and executed adds to their aesthetic appeal.

Even small and medium-sized game studios will be envious of this level of effort.

Great job. You are definitely making everyone happy >)
