Progress Report: Flavor and Quests

Quests

There are now quests in the game. These serve three purposes. Firstly they are a soft tutorial that is supposed to guide you through the early stages of the game, giving you some early goals until you get your bearings. Secondly they will be the basis of the main story, and a vehicle for giving some more detail on the world. Thirdly they allow for repeatable semi-random quests which give you more reason to do all sorts of dungeon types.

Currently, they aren't anywhere near that. It's just an implementation framework, serving to see what works and doesn't work for the quest UI. Expanding them further would require the original roadmap to be finished first. But, these were graciously implemented by a contributor, so I had no reason to delay this any further.

Flavor

I added descriptions for every single item, quirk, and trait. I always find it quite fun to read a quick sentence on what items exactly are. So, enjoy!

Daily Summary

Since the start of the project I've had people request for a daily overview of the events that happened in the guild. It took a while to get it working smoothly, especially since I didn't want it to be hardcoded. I didn't mention it with the quests, but ensuring that stuff is easily expandable and quick to work with is an important part of keeping the development going at a brisk pace.

Anyway, now you get a daily summary of what your girls were up to while you were away.

Next

After the Patreon voters choice for the Swamps area, it's time to work on the Petgirl class. This will come with a small class rework. The current way classes work doesn't feel sufficiently engaging, and moves/buffs should be granted piecemeal. In the future you'll be able to buy class perks with development goals, which will give more freedom in how you'll develop your girls.

Damn, I was just thinking about how this game would handle quests. You work fast!

I'll be sure to play around with the new content once I find the time (and privacy) to do so. This seems to be a very impressive update!

Framework's ready from contributor, that's quiet the buff to development progress, now figuring out how to make everything work together. I'll just mind my own business, don't know what else to quip for cheer or two.

(1 edit)

what is the third purpose the quests serve? i think it got cut off. 0.o
