Progress Report: Parasites Rework


Parasites

Since the Seedbed is quite handily winning the poll for the next boss, we're interrupting your weekly gear additions for a short parasite rework. Parasites were rather boring up to now, they just gave some minor bonuses and drawbacks as they grew and could be extracted for mana. They didn't even show up on the adventurer. So let's change that. All parasites are animated, so I'm linking to Xitter in case you want to see the animation.

Now all parasites are visualized, and their effects are also a lot more interesting. Additionally I've added two more parasites, a corset and a heel one. I've also added parasite equipment - which is slightly weaker than actual parasites - for those who like the visuals.


Overworld Roster (IneptArtificer)

A long awaited UI feature has now been added by contributor Inept Artificer. You can now select your party in the overworld, but not only that, it also shows which adventurers would be good candidates. This should reduce the continuous swapping from guild to overworld by around 100%.


Public Release

Next week is another public release. It will contain everything up to (but not including) the parasites, which means that it should be quite stable this time.

Major:

  • Parasite rework:
    • New Parasites + Rebalances:
      • Anal Parasite: Chance to preserve provisions after using them in battle, but also a chance to birth a new parasite when there's space on the enemy side.
      • Brain Parasite: Will slowly drain stats to strengthen itself.
      • Corset Parasite: Adds buffs but after a couple of turns will start suffocating the wearer
      • Heel Parasite: Bonus at high lust, but may decide to lick the wearer's feet
      • Nipple Parasite: Grows boobs, once a specific size is reached forces the wearer to use one of several cow moves
      • Oral Parasite: Silences the wearer, but heals her when using magic attacks
      • Urethral Parasite: Adds negative desperation tokens, after a certain amount of them adds a positive relief token
      • Vaginal parasite: Chance for random orgasms, but also changes orgasmic afterglow to be a positive
    • Parasites now grow per turn, with modifiers depending on the parasite type
    • Natural grown parasites are now worth much more

Minor:

  • The way resources are handled in the code has changed, reducing loading times by up to 50%.
  • Some performance increases during dungeon runs, thanks Haraberu!
  • Quirks have been rebalanced so that their damage is more in line with the accessories.
  • New music for the conclusion screens.
  • Improved class and building tooltips.

Bugfixes:

  • Fluffy ears were on ears instead of head slot
  • Fixed some sprite issues, for example when combining latex tokens and the dullhan's collar
  • Provisions are now stacked in combat
  • The game would crash if you retreated while an ally was (latex) cocooned
  • Hold to confirm progress bars didn't respect mute
  • Crits would ignore dot conversions
  • Stylish corset wasn't tagged as corset
  • Lace underwear is no longer a direct downgrade of cotton
  • Stylish collar wasn't posture
  • Changed abandon adventurer to dismiss adventurer in tutorials
  • Fixed strange mecha milker riposte interactions
  • Texture and clipping fixes for the Cleric Robe, Chainmail Armor, Rope Harness, Bondage Suit, Mage Robe, Leather Armor and Godette Suit, Corsets, and some more...
  • Black/Pink Straitjackets were broken
